PoSh for VMware scripts
I don't really trust scripts taken from Google, especially when it's beyond my current comprehension. Same with cooking recipes; they just look bogus.
It's another case of "I can't believe they expect me to do this" at work and I plan to automate some of the monthly reporting crap being asked of me, so:
Can anyone recommend books/sources for scripting in VMware. I'm just looking to harvest data at the moment (how many hosts, VMs, datastore, vitalstats, when created, logs, etc) but will want to perform more tricks later on if I can get a VM infrastructure gig.

What level are you at right now with PoSh? If you have decent amount of skill just learning the VMWare specific commands might be enough. I would say grab some scripts and examine them while going through a good PoSh text.

I'm mostly a scriptor when the job calls for it, which I then become an absolute code monkey. Then I forget it as I go onto something else. Currently in managed services so there's never any time to work on ways to save time.
I'll look into those books as I need another resource anyhow, cheers.
