Boson 8

i think boson will be the route I take. from what ive seen on the website boson 8 seems to have everything you could want in a network simulator but I have not seen much mention of it on these boards. Its $180 for the ccent / ccna version.
Virtual router 6 is about the same cost but does not look like its been updated in the past couple of years.

I've got Boson's NetSim 8.0 for CCNA/CCNP and it's pretty decent for a sim. It will make you set a clock rate whereas GNS3 does not. It also will allow you to update it when fixes/updates become available.
I'll usually run through the individual labs or the sequential ones when I don't want to fire up my rack.
I'm not sure how far one can go with creating custom labs. I've never tried it.
