Net+ vs icnd1(ccent)
Just got my CCENT cert on the 13th and I was thinking about Net+ before ICND2(ccna) because DoD loves compTIA more then Cisco. I was wondering what your thoughts on stopping now to work on Net+ before getting the icnd2 done and what are the differences between ICND1 and NET+ . I gather icnd1 and net+ are not the same but they are pretty similar. What area of study would be required to push into the NET+ exam.

that being said, 3 chapters deep in my CCENT studies, and I have found my previous studies of Network+ to be very beneficial.Currently Working On

It appears to cover port memorization with more scrutiny and adds in topics like WINS, IPX/SPX and windows network utilities. Anyone else find this to be true or have their own opinion on the matter.

As for the original question, it's fairly clear, if you found CCENT too challenging go for Network+, if you found it OK or not challenging enough then go with ICND2. ICND2 deals with VLANS, ACLs, Spanning Tree Protocol, NAT, IPv6, more widely used routing protocols than RIP. The difference in difficulty is night and day. I would go for ICND2 to complete the CCNA and therefore not really needing Network+ unless it's something which you have your eye on doing. But saying that, Network+ has more vendor neutral objectives and covers general every day networking more in depth than CCENT or CCNA. There is no harm in having both. -
