in CCNA & CCENT
Issue with Step 10 in Part 1 Lab 14. Simulator is up to date.
The "boot system flash:c2800nm-advipservicesk9-mz.124-21.bin" was listed incorrectly and from what my research shows is should be "boot system flash c2800nm-advipservicesk9-mz.124-21.bin", is this true?
Also in step 5 where is says for me to copy c2800nm-advipservicesk9-mz.124-21.bin from the tftp server. I do that and when I run "show flash" it shows c2800nm-advipservicesk9-mz.124-21.bin as the higher file number but the file length is only 20009 instead of something like 26100776 switch is the same as c2800nm-advipservicesk9-mz.124-7h.bin.
Also, the question seems to accept any tftp address I put in, even though it says to put in 10.1.1.1 for the tftp address. I could put in something like 12.12.12.12 and it would say anything is wrong with it.
I wrote a support letter to informit.com but if nothing comes up I might as well ask for a refund. You can't have too much faith in studying for an exam when there's errors like this. :S
Thanks for all help.
Is there something that I'm doing wrong?
Thanks,
Joe

GNS3 can simulates them nearly flawlessly (maybe 98% flawless). Do not let those simulators throw you off completely as I do not recommend you to depend on it for accuracy. It doesn't really gauge your performance on the actual equipments.

And I stand corrected. I just bashed on the Packet Tracer that Cisco owns. Although, it does a pretty good job than most third-party simulators out there. I believe you are using is a third-party simulator. Cisco probably worked out some deals with Boson to provide them a sim for non-Cisco-Academy people.
