Grass and my hayfever never mixed well. I used to clean the neighbours cars for a nominal fee when I was about 8yrs old if that counts? It only lasted one weekend and two cars though. Turns out that kitchen scouring pads were not the best tool for cleaning cars with icon_pale.gif ....... who figured?

I did that all the time, but I wouldn't really count it as a job. Quick way to make some money for a night out though!

    Let's see. . .

My first job was at a local place, doing some dirty work at the age of 15:
    01) Car washer

Then I went on to sit and lounge by the pool for a while. . .
    02) Lifeguard (Local public swimming pool)
    03) Lifeguard/Swimming instructor (YMCA)
    04) Acting aquatics director (YMCA)

After the YMCA screwed me out of actually taking the Aquatics Director job and refused to pay me more than the regular instructor salary while I was doing the director's job, I sold my soul:
    05) Cashier (Blockbuster)
    06) Sales Associate (Tiny Computers)
    07) DirecTV Sales Representative (Back at Blockbuster again)

I was sick to death of video stores after a while, and went to work for 24 Hour Fitness for about two years:
    0icon_cool.gif Front Desk Receptionist
    09) Fitness Counselor - Sales and personal training
    10) Front Desk Receptionist - Graveyard Shift

And finally, some actual IT work at age 22:
    11) A+ Technician (CompUSA)
    12) Helpdesk Technician (Kaiser Permanente)
    13) Systems Engineer (at a Datacenter/ISP)
    14) Systems Administrator (at an IT outsourcing company)
    15) Systems Engineer (at a video game studio)

And, finally, my new full-time gig:
    16) Student

    Free Microsoft Training: Microsoft Learn
Free PowerShell Resources: Top PowerShell Blogs
Free DevOps/Azure Resources: Visual Studio Dev Essentials

Let it never be said that I didn't do the very least I could do.

    PC Technician (under the table)

    Warehouse (dark days)
Flipped Burgers (dark days jack in a crack)

Helpdesk (Finally forced to forget my software programming without experience)
    Desktop Support
    System Administrator
    System Engineer
    Network Engineer
    Network Security Engineer

The only think I did right was to never quit.

When I was 9 I taught elderly people how to turn on computers and use MS Works, Word, and Excel in exchange for a savings bond! I would also fix neighborhood PCs because no one else knew how in the late 90s.

    For profit jobs
    1) Grocery Packaging Specialist (bag boy)
    2) Cart Security and Procurment Expert (buggy wrangler)
    3) Custodial Supply Technician (night janitor)
    4) Audio Visual Technician (These are real titles now)
    5) Media Manager
    6) Accounting Associate (book keeping)
    7) System Support Specialist (helpdesk and server)
    icon_cool.gif Network Administrator
    9) Network Administrator

I'm not sure why I did the whole Economics thing and went into accounting. I was pretty much destined to teach old people how to beep and boop on their computers.

1 - Grocery store Cashier - (Nepotism at its finest. My mom was the store manager so I got to skip the bag boy step)

2 - Grocery store Stock Clerk (Working for your mom sucks. Took a job at a different store, under the guise that it's closer to school)

3 -Air Force Air National Guard 2E2x1 (After thoroughly blowing my college experience and being put on academic probation for a year, joined and chose the AFSC with the longest school date available at the time. Got to my unit and started with phones, moved into circuit board repair, then got thrown in to Unix Administration since I was the youngest guy in my flight, and all the old guys wanted me to learn the new stuff while they stuck to what they knew. Jokes on them!!! They ended up having to learn the stuff anyway, but not the official Solaris training from Sun like I got. They got the dumbed down AF version. Stupidly did not pursue Solaris certification. Paying for it today.)

4 - Unix Systems Administrator (possiby the only time in history that being voluntold paid off; got my clearance upgraded from my previous full time guard job because it became a requirement, but left a month later to take this contract job. Drill weekends very uncomfortable after that.)

5 - Windows Systems Administrator (moved states, changed guard units, had a great time; contract job got cut. booo no jobs)

6 - Systems Administrator (went back to my original state, got a good job with great coworkers. Changed guard units again, loving life; I get to work with Network equipment!)

7 - Network Administrator (despite having the good job and great coworkers in the previous job, the customers were <insert long string of curse words> and found out Cisco monkeys didn't have to deal with customers; could not change jobs fast enough)

8 - Frontline Supervisor/Sr. Network Administrator (my boss quit and I was voluntold to take over; payback for the previous voluntold awesomeness, the job sucked as I became mired in supervisory unpleasantry. It really sucks having to rate your friends and figure out how to tell one of your buds he's not getting a raise or bonus cause he didn't earn it and why. Lost two good friends in the process.)

9 - Sr. Network Administrator (Left a year after I got "promoted" to take the same job with the same company at a different site sans the Supervisor work thankfully. Gained back one good friend, the sucker that got "promoted" after I left. He now understands why our one bud didn't get a raise or bonus.)

10 - Network Engineer (I am now an Army of one. There are perks to being the only IT guy, and I'll let you know when I find 'em)

I've done a lot of "vacation jobs" as a teenager, like carrot/potato/flower bulb picker and "production employee" (I turned around spray cans to make sure the sticker machine put a sticker on the backside of the can - one week and I knew I'd finish school and start studying my ass off.) Loved my early morning paper route.

Now for the more relevant, I've done several short contract jobs under different titles and don't even remember all the variations they came up with (to push my hourly rate to customers) so this is the slimmed down version:

    - Application Manager (desktop software manager basically, though I managed two Netware servers as well of which one I implemented at a remote location)
    - Helpdesk employee (1st line and 2nd line support)
    - Support desk employee (2nd line) / Desktop Admin
    - Desktop/Server Admin and 2nd line support
    - IT Consultant (general title at the company I was employed at and said little about what I actually did at the companies I actually did the work at)
    - Netware Admin (3.12 and 4)
    - Exchange Server admin
    - Project Manager (large infrastructure changes involving new servers, routers/switches and often moving to larger/newer buildings)
    - Exchange Consultant (actually what the name implied that time though I didn't just "advice" but usually ended up doing the implementation/migration/upgrade as well)
    - Trainer/Coach (last permanent position)
    - Webmaster
    - Various titles I tailor to the hat I'm wearing at that moment :)
