hey I want to make sure if I decide to take ICND2 will that renew my
current ccna another 3 years? I think I can pass the icnd2. I took
the composite 802 exam 3 years ago and my ccna will expire august 7th.
I was considering the ccna-s but it look like more material than me reviewing my icnd2 stuff. so do you guys know if i take icnd2 will that renew my current ccna 3 more years? how can I verify this?thank you

Yes you can, I was lazy enough not to check when mine expired, now I'm paying the price. See thread...

Why waste the effort on getting, well, the same cert. Why not do one of the other CCNA variants, security is probably the easiest, or do a ccnp exam, this will renew your CCNA and get you a new Cert. You may as well move forwards as sideways.

The issue is he only has 35 days before his CCNA expires...

I spent a month on my CCNA security - admittedly I was out of work at the time so I really hammered it. I didn't notice the date - it is doable but I appreciate that not everyone put that kind of time in! I did about 3 or 4 hours a day and a couple of all day sessions towards the end.

I don't have any recommendations on the material, just some advice.
Schedule the exam at least a week before your drop dead date, then if you fail, you have an chance to take it a second time

I passed the CCNA Sec today - study materials used were CBT Nuggets, Official Cert Guide and Boson exam sims

The actual exam wasn't as hard as I thought, it took me 2 months to prepare - but I was pretty lax at first (skipping days etc).

A month would be do-able if you can commit the time each day
