Network+ before A+?

Hi,
I am new to this forum, and new to certifications as well.
I am currently a masters student in management sciences.
I have an undergraduate degree in computer science.
I am complete my masters degree in December.
And my plan is at least to take A+ and Network+.
Or one other, maybe MCP 20-270 or Linux+
Anyways, as I see, most people take A+ before Network+.
That was my original plan too.
But this semester, I just took a networking course which is very heavy on theory.
So I was wondering if it's a good idea to go ahead and take Net+ when the concepts are still fresh in my mind.
I also heard that the new objective will be harder, so I was hoping to aim for the older version.
It would be great if you guys could give me some advice
Thanks
Philip

shadown7 Member Posts: 529I'd go ahead and take the Net + exam. You'll have untill June 30th to complete the current version of the exam. I'm going to take my Net + exam next month and then I'm going for the A + exam. Comptia suggests you have your A+ cert before you take the Net + exam. But, if you have that fresh in your mind then I'd go ahead and take it.

Let me tell you Network+ (2002) are very easy. If you study you will pass in no time, and that the network things are fresh in your head is a plus. I would recommend take Network+ first than A+. So when you are going to study for A+ you don't have to study the objective ( networking ) again , because you know it. Trust me when i made network+ and studied A+ i didn't even touched the network objective because i knew them. And on A+ Hw they asked many questions about networking and i knew all of them. I think that helped me to pass the A+ core.
That is what i had to say, and wish you good luck in you certs. -

I have no yet tried the practise exam.
I am in the middle of Exam Cram 2 now.
I guess I'm gonna take a practise exam after I finish the book.
Then take another exam after a finish a new book, guide or source.
Is this a good way to go?

DarklyWise Member Posts: 75 ■■□□□□□□□□Yes - take any online / practice exams when you feel that you are ready... most sites' exams use many of the same questions when you do the exam so you should only hit each site very few times....A being Darkly Wise and Rudely Great
