Giant Frames...are they discarded?

Suppose that a PC is configured with an MTU of 6000, but the switch port is only configured with an MTU of 1500.

What happens when the switch the receives a a frame 6000 byte in size? One of the port is reporting giant frames, but doing a show controllers show it as "Valid oversize frames"

Output of show interface
