Any IPhone Guru? Error 3194, 1600 (RESOLVED)

I got a used IPhone 3Gs and Itune tried to update it and now I get error 3194 during restore no matter what I do. I googled and tried different methods, but I either get error 3194 or 1015. I used iReb, Tinyumbrella, Blackrn1 and few others, same issue.

The phone had Cydia on it, so I assume it was jailbroken. There is no data on it, all I want is an operational phone.

Please help.

No guru and although I revive dead iPhones regularly, I stopped jailbreaking my phones years ago. Sounds like you are restoring to a jail broken version of the iOS firmware and Apple refuses to sign it. Did you try Shift-Restore in iTunes and browse for the firmware? Thanks Johan. Yes I tried shift+restore and tried to restore to 4.3.4 (latest), 4.0 and and 4.3.1 and get 3194 or 1015. It verifies with Apple fine, but generates the error towards the end.

As long iTunes sees it it should be possible to recover it, looks like you'll have to go through some extra hoops though.

As I'm sure you noticed there's a load of different articles and videos on the web that cover the errors yet with slightly different solutions, but have you tried one of first few videos listed here in particular:

If you got the 1015 after trying to restore/upgrade to 4.3.1 that might work for you. Needless to say when it comes to a bricked jailbroken phone but "use at own risk".

Thanks for the link. I followed that video, it led me to IPhone error 1600, which was easier.

Finally, I followed the link below and viola and restored.
