in CCNA & CCENT
Hi to all TE members
TE has a great forums and i hope that you'll help me of my decision
so as i mentioned earlier I'm a zero knowledge at all Cisco's certificates
I'm in to the security field , it really interest me (Securing Networks , Pen testing )
at the end of my Cisco's exams i want to obtain CCSP
I'm still a college student but i want to get familiarize with information security as much as i can, at the end of my college studying years i want to have a very good knowledge of Info-Sec and have some decent certificates to get a decent job.
but as you can see there are other certifications before it i must obtain.
i don't want to just be a CCSP Certified, but i want to be a very good at it.
so , i know i must begin with CCNA , but then what
should i get CCNP , and then CCSP
or CCNA then CCNA Security then CCNP then CCNP Security Then CCSP
and is there more certificates about security in Cisco , and is it worth getting it
that's all about Cisco
another thing , what should i get then, i mean after Cisco's sertificates
and what do you guys think about Security+ , should i get this one too
Thanks

martell1000 is right. You should focus on CCENT since you probably would need a CCNA anyway to set your foot in the door in today's economy. Some of the guys you will find here had experiences by the time the dot.com boom happen. Around that time, there were not many CCNA which made it easier for those without experience to get their first Cisco jobs. Today that opportunity is rare. You do not need to worry about mapping out now until you finish your CCNA. Once you do that, you will gain better insight. -

dude
icnd1 + icnd2 gives you a ccna
if you have no clue about what is in these two exams - go and take them
you wont be able to take any of the other exams without a ccna
ok - you might go for CCIE but i wouldnt suggest thatAnd then, I started a blog ... -

Here is your start, if your new to networking:
Network+
CCENT (ICND1)
CCNA (ICND2)
CCNA security
That should take you about 1-2 years
than come back and I'll give you your next 2 years worth of work -

Why network+ before CCNA? Is there anything in the network+ that the CCNA doesn't cover with more depth? -

Network+ is not that hard but it’s good general information. If you have no networking experience do the network+ exam, then move right into ICND1 exam. -

Are you trying prepare yourself or going to attend some classes (like Cisco academy or crash courses) for your preparation? If you are preparing yourself, you need to buy study guides, and Cisco Press books for CCENT/CCNA are good for this.
Net+ is not really essential if you intend to pursue Cisco certification path. If you feel comfortable with CCENT preparation, then go ahead. No need to take net+. But if you feel the concepts are tough, then Net+ may help you in preparing the ground for CCENT/CCNA.
Some colleges offer credits for Comptia/Cisco exams. Check out with your college and see if you get any credits for these certs and it may help you in planning.
Good luck!
