Damn it feels good to be a gangsta...passed ICND2

in CCNA & CCENT
So that was a much needed pass today. I went in feeling confident enough, though after reading these forums recently I couldn't help but feel nervous about the difficulty.
It's been since summer 2009 that I passed ICND1 and I decided to s*** or get off the pot this summer. Started studying ICND2 material in early June and it all came together today.
The exam was no joke, even though I had almost 3 times as many sims on the ICND1, this one required IN DEPTH knowledge of ACL's, WAN, ROUTE, and ATTENTION TO DETAIL. I can not stress that last one enough.
I used:
Cisco Press ICND2 Odom book
CBT Nuggets
3 2621 + 2 2950 (hands on XP is definitely worth the price)
Packet Tracer 5.0
Results = 930/1000. I did better on this one than the ICND1. Once you know how Cisco exams are alot of the jitters go away. You either know the material or you don't.
-Configure, verify and troubleshoot a switch with VLANs and interswitch communications (87%)
-Implement an IP addressing scheme and IP services to meet network requirements in a medium-size Enterprise branch office network (88%)
-Configure and troubleshoot basic operation and routing on Cisco devices (87%)
-Implement, verify and troubleshoot NAT and ACLs in a medium-size Enterprise branch office network (100%)
-Implement and verify WAN links (100%)

I've been debating whether to go the specialized route (Security, Wireless, Voice) or just jump right into CCNP track. The SWITCH exam has caught my eye and was wondering if anyone has opinions on the study materials needed. -

Jason,
Congrats and thanks for sharing...
I guess I'm off to slow start...
It's encouraging to here that you continued after 2yrs...
You mentioned you have following hardware: 3 2621 + 2 2950.
To perform exercises in ICND2 book, how many:
1) PCs did you use to perform exercises?
2) Ethernet connections to switches / routers were needed?
I'm confused on hosts ( physical nic connections ) needed to perform exercises.
I have two laptops and I'm not sure if that's enough
I had planned to do following:
Laptop #1:
1) access to SW1 console via serial
2) access to SW1 telnet & ssh via ethernet
3) end point for testing switch / router networking items
Laptop #2
1) access to SW2 console via serial
2) access to SW2 telnet & ssh via ethernet
3) end point for testing switch / router networking items
Another thought was to purchase a desktop pc and add couple of nics that had multiple interfaces ( 2 or 4 interfaces per nic card ).
Did you use packet tracer to test configuration and routing issues:
1) test pc to pc connections on same subnet
2) test pc to pc connections on different subnets
3) spanning tree, etc...
Thanks in advance... -
