201 or 301, I'm a little confused.

I have been studying the 201 material, but I see some have taken the 301 exam, some the 201 exam. Can you choose which exam you want to take when you sign up for the exam? I am planning on taking the exam before the end of 2011. Since I have been studying the 201 material, I would like to take the 201 exam if possible.

Yes, you can choose which exam to take. When you sign up to take the exam, just make sure you specify SY0-201. If you just say Security+, they may sign you up for the wrong one.
