How much max salary does a CCIE can reach

I live in Australia and i just want to get an idea IF someone gets CCIE then how is the yearly income for that guy. I just want a rough estimate.

One thing more , rather than doing job for company , are any chances for doing small business like providing services to company

Thanks

You can do all the things you mentioned with or without a CCIE but the salaries vary. Having a CCIE will get your rates up if you want to go contracting. In terms of permanent jobs the income varies a good deal. In the past resellers offered great salaries to newly minted CCIE's because demand outstripped supply. There were fewer CCIE's on the block and the IT business boomed with many new companies chasing Gold Partner status. Today you will find many companies hiring cheaper CCIE's based overseas to meet that requirement.

If you want to earn big licks as a CCIE then your experience in the field will count for a great deal, either as a presales specialist or bricks and mortar network designer or architect, or as a lead engineer responsible for holding down complex and significantly sized network infrastructure. There are still opportunities for less experienced CCIE's but a lot of competition as the world has filled up with timeserved network professionals.

    ^ Pretty average comment really..

When I worked in Perth, our senior engineer was on $110K with his CCNP and CCIP, then when he got his CCIE he went contracting and makes about $180K now. He also add atleast 6 or 7 years solid experience too. HTH

I most that I know make well over 130K(US) However I know guys that PIMP there CCIE and make considerably more. And last of all CCIE Trainers make serious $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, but these guys dedicate there lives to this. As in they hold multiple CCIE's so they can dedicate there time to making the best training products they can and they don't do as much technical work as before maybe 20-30 percent real world and the other 80-70 focused on training and development.
    Currently Reading

CUCM SRND 9x/10, UCCX SRND 10x, QOS SRND, SIP Trunking Guide, anything contact center related

Not all CCIE trainers. Some dedicate their lives, make much less money and get laid off. Joe Asterino was one example. There are others.

I guess a better question is: How much max salary can a cook make? Or a mechanic?

A run of the mill mechanic might make $40k/yr..but a mechanic who goes on to own his own shop might strike it big doing custom engine builds. Point is..it depends.

I know of no cap on salary for CCIE's..it's not the friggin NBA.

FWIW, I've seen more than one posting for a $200k salary requiring a CCIE, but it's been a while since I've seen those.

It's an academic conversation unless you have what it takes to do it. Post up a study thread. 9 CCIE lab passes in 4 years on TE. The worst return on any qualification in the industry! Are you up to it? We have 6 credible CCIE candidates posting on TE, join the pack.

add me to the 7th credible one after 12 months. By mid 2012 I should be supposed into the Written exam... maybe now I'm in too early stage to post messages here icon_sad.gif but thanks for the sharing anyways.
