Has anyone ever used a SGE2000?
themagicone
SGE2000 is a 24 port 10/100/1000 Linksys branded Cisco Switch. Just curious if anyone has ever used one and if they had any issues with it. Mine keeps wanting to turn on STP. And, that in turns causes the switch to go offline. Might remember my post about the home router. Well, it wasn't the router or the internet. Found out that the switch turned STP on once again. And for some reason it was cycling when ever a computer was turned on. Unlike a full Cisco switch on this you can't set ports to access or trunk, they are on auto.
Might need to find a new switch but a managed gigabit switch is expensive.

The HP pro curve 1410's are quite cheap for a web managed Gb switch and they work pretty well.
They use them at work(uni) in some of the student computer labs.
If not everything needs Gb can pick up the cisco 3550-12G for not to expensive but then there's the cost of the gbics or a 3550-12T(only 2x gbics)
the 3550-12's seem to be around US$200 to 600 on ebay.com
