Cisco IDS/IPS Software - SSH

I just want to confirm something that I am having trouble locating. Once a management address and access-list are configured on a Cisco IDS sensor running v4.0 or later, no further configuration is required to SSH to the device. Is that an accurate statement? If not, could someone point me to a good read on the subject? Many thanks!
