Windows 8 on vmware workstation 8 - don't install vmware tools

in Off-Topic
It installs fine and you can work with it etc., but performance is obviously rubbish until you install the tools - having said that, installing the tools on the VM makes it go pop
(no official W8 option under vmware workstation 8 anyway)

Heh - at least "F8" works
so does the system restore
But yea - it works in VMWare Workstation 8
But IF it really turns out to be the way to go, i.e. having that touchpad interface like desktop where the "classic" is only secondary and started when classics apps are being started, then I will probably stick with W7 a loooong time ....My own knowledge base made public: http://open902.com -

I'm wondering if by the time they announce what versions will be available and what the differences will be if there won't be a home/tablet version and a pro version with significantly more differences than we see between windows 7 home and pro. This version is clearly being released so developers can get apps into the app store and the app store is going to be aimed more at home/tablet/phone users. -

After thirty minutes of playing around with, I have to say I'm more than impressed. I was a little apprehensive about the Metro UI integration but I think they have done remarkably well. Can't wait to see this on a tablet. -

I got the VMWare tools to install without issue. Playing around with it in dual monitor full screen now.
