Hi everyone!
It's been a long time since the last time i posted here, . .:)
Anyways, I've been studying Windows 7 for a couple of weeks now, after i got the MCDST last June.
Books/References/Software that i'm using:
-Don Poulton MCTS 70-680 Cert Guide
-Testout-Labsim-70-680
-Professor Messer Videos
-CBT Nuggets - Microsoft 70-680 Windows 7 Configuration
-Technet Articles
Things I've done studying so far:
-What's new to Windows 7
-Windows 7 editions & features
-Windows 7 Clean Installation
-Upgrading to Windows 7
-Migrating to Windows 7
-Windows AIK
-Windows SIM
-Configuration Passes
-Create Answer File
-Do/Create Win7 Unattended Install CD (a lot of trial and errors. . . )
-Sysprep
-WinPE 3.0
-creating and booting to WinPE boot disk
-mapping a network share on the command line (be sure to check the VM network settings)
-What is ImageX and WIM file
-captured image using ImageX and saved on a network share (actually, it's a shared folder set to everyone on my HOST PC)
-applied image saved on the network share using ImageX
-Using BCDBOOT to set the system partition (the next thing that happened is the most fascinating, seeing the machine booting up to windows 7 . . done this for almost 8 times with no reference, . .)
-Image Servicing with DISM
~now i'm studying VHDs
*this will gonna be my thread until i pass this exam

just focus on the exam objectives, and you'll do good. . .
I'm actually taking my time, since its my first enterprise client exam. And basing from my experience when I've taken the exams for MCDST, . . i felt that i really need to prepare for this exam. And I'm expecting a lot of paragraph questions on this exam . . .
so just take your time, if you feel you can, then go, but for me, i won't unless i want to. -

PCSPreston Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 127I have failed 70-680 twice and the same area has troubled me. I think i should have passed and i failed because of that one section in my opinion. The biggest thing to remember is that to always go over things you know well and don't overlook any section.

I also don't know if I'll pass or not, but one thing's for sure, i won't fail . . . even if I fail this exam. -

DreadJunior Member Posts: 36 ■■■□□□□□□□Hi all, I'm done with my exam. . .
I didn't managed to get the pass with a score of 646. This was a tough exam, but i don't feel that it was since i've done very well on the deployment section. It's the Encryption & Certificates that got me.
I can retake the exam next week. But i planned it to be next month. . .
*this is my first failure, but nothing to be sad about . . It's part of the journey. . .and I achieved something i should be proud of. . . "the windows 7 experience" -
parttimetechie Member Posts: 156ya, its a very challenging exam. I got a 455 on it, so it was a real eye opener for me. I've got one more shot at it, but it will be in a few montsh
