I'm Planning for CCNA by EOY 2011. I was originally going CCENT/CCNA route, but have recently changed my tactics and going for the 1 exam. Because of this, chances are this will be spilling over to 2012. After that is complete, I'm aiming for MCTIP:EA upgrade path. Then, I will start looking in to finishing up my degree. While I don't believe I am going to get all of this done in 2012, at least I have a plan icon_cool.gif .

PS: Wow, it's been a LONG while since I've posted. How is everyone?

I wondered where you were :D

Edit: If I don't pass CISSP this year (December), I will take another crack at it late next year.

If you don't pass, stay on the horse and retake it as soon as possible. Every day that goes by will make it more difficult.

20 days to get it finished, then two weeks to work on the presentation.

Then start on CCNP. Maybe cwna before ccnp.

Depends on what happens with work and uni studies .Hopefully finally finish my degree next year
(been 11 years part time - double degree physics and computer systems engineering).

for work we're getting a reprap 3d printer so going to have to learn to use solidworks.
Goals CCNA by dec 2013, CCNP by end of 2014

I haven't been on the certification-horse for a while now, mainly because of school. I had planned to finish up the MCSE 2003 track, but I think I'll skip that and go right to 2008, (clock's ticking,) and I'll probably finally knuckle under and get some experience on Exchange. I'd also love to get back to the CCNP track at some point, if I can.

Q4 (of 2011) Then 2012 will (hopefully) break down something like this:
    Q1
    • 70-648
    • 70-643 (Start the work, at least. Might go into Q2.)
    Q2
    • 70-647 to complete the MCITP: Enterprise Administrator cert.
    • Start work on 70-662
    Q3
    • Finish 70-662
    • 70-663 to earn MCITP: Enterprise Messaging Administrator 2010
    Q4
    • Finish any certs from above that I'm lagging behind on.
    • Get back to studying for the ROUTE exam or possibly look ahead to whatever new certs Microsoft has for the next version of Server.
We'll see how it goes, but that's the plan. I'm also looking for a part-time job to help with school expenses, as well as studying for my classes, so it may be a little slower-going than what I've got here.
Slight modification: I'm doing a lot of lab-work with Exchange, so I'll probably end up taking 70-662 sooner than later, either alongside with or before I study for the Windows 7 exam.

    2011:
Secure+Firewall=Cisco Firewall Specialist and Cisco IOS Sec Specialist
Maybe (just maybe) CCDA If I can wing it.

    2012:
    CCNP:S
    CCNP
    CWNA
    CWSP

I have decided to add RHCSA to the mix. So I am going to try for CCNP:S, CCNP and RHCSA before I graduate (end of summer 2011) and then CWNA and CWSP before the end of the year. I probably won't be able to get Cisco FW specialist before the end of the year but I should be able to knock it out early next year.

I hope to knock out CCIP by the end of 2012. It shouldn't be too difficult as I've studied all the topics to various degrees in the past. I'm going to knock the QoS Exam out on Monday then all I will need is BGP and MPLS. I'm quite excited. After that I intend to jump over to JNCIA as I'm starting to see more of these in production. My previous experience with Juniper equipment was positive so I'm excited to add this to my toolkit.

2011 has been a slow year for me, I only earned the CCNA Security.
I hope to knock out the SWITCH exam by year end.

    2012:

    CCNP
    CCNP Security
CISSP (and maybe the CompTIA CASP along the way)

Next year I plan on finishing my CCNP:Voice (CIPT2,TVOICE,CAPPS) and keeping up with my WGU curriculum which should land me Project+, CIW Javascrip Specialist, and maybe a MS cert. I might start a CCIE track to written voice, or maybe CCNP since my old boss is joining as my co-worker in my company and we sort of punch each other in the direction of cisco certs. Haha.

Also, it's been awhile since I have been on here as well. Nice to see you guys again =)
    Currently Pursuing

I achieved my only 2011 certification goal, the EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE).

2012 has me back on the Cisco horse trying for:

    CCENT
    CCNA
    CCNA:Security
    CCDA

Some of that may get derailed if my employer throws some SANS training into next year's plans.

Going all in on the CCNA, current job just recently promoted a co worker to Level 2 network support when he passed the CCNA.
Will most likely go back and finish 70-291 and do Security + to complete MCSA.
I will then have MCSA Security + CCNA and hopefully be able to move on from level 1 desktop and network support.

I'm currently working on CCNA Security and hope to write sometime in the next 3 weeks.
    For 2012
SMB Solutions for Engineers (650-196) I'm not sure how much this one will mean but I've been installing a lot of UC500/320's lately and as such
have been studying just to complete my work so I figured I may as well get the cert.

Then on to CCVP. I'm going to need to spend at least another 500 on my lab to get enough gear to pass this thing so that's step one.
    Probably I'll do Cvoice first.

If you do one a year for the next 5 years you will be in great shape. I always thought getting a ton of certifications was always overrated.

What cert are you leaning towards?

I hear that. I've had a CCNP lab rarin' and ready to go since I passed the 640-801. . . and now it's been a year since my CCNA expired. Hopefully, I'll be able to get back on the R&S horse his upcoming summer and get back to it.

Well I would really like to just get my MCITP-SA and get it over with already but its hard to come home and want to do anything after working all day. Plus my wife works during the night on most nights at home so I watch our son. I am sure there are quite a few of you who know what I am going through. I was just looking at another thread on here about getting rid of TV which I think I am going to do. We didnt have TV for the first 1.5 years we where married and then got it because we bought our house and got a bundle deal with the internet. That deal is about to come to an end though as our year is up and it will almost double in price. I will be cutting back to just internet after that and taking the extra TV in our bedroom and putting it in the workout room so if I want to watch it I need to work out. Laziness is part of my battle. Maybe if I get off my butt and work out I will have the desire to actually do something. Only time will tell.

I have two children 8 and 3 and my wife is a nurse so she works nights some of the times. I am currently working ~15 hours a week so I have time for certifications. However this is coming to an end hopefully. I had a system analyst interview m-f 7-4 just recently and things are looking good so fingers crossed prayers in full effect. I also have a job coming up, not exactly sure the launch date that will require me to work fri-sun 7:30-7:30 PM (Release Manager remote). Monday will be a bear, but certifications will be officially off the table at that point. I am hoping I can sustain for at least 2 years, I have a very strong work ethic and should be able to pull this off.

The misses is applying for several different nursing masters program paid 100% from her hospitial. Infectous diseases, Process Analyst (Six Sigma essentially), anesthetist, practitioner. She most likely will be going full bore in her studies so she won't be able to pick up the extra hours she is now.

Anyway I just wanted to give you a background of my situation and it sounds like we are in the same boat.

Like I said earlier I would just focus on one cert a year. Read a chapter hear and there and once you get to the end of the book and start to have a really good grasp set your exam date and then drill in those last 2 weeks. I am sure you will do fine. IMO as long as you show continuous knowledge improvement you are looking good on paper.

I am doing the B.S. IT-Network Admin, so I am setting my goals for 2012 to pass the:

    Java certs
    640
    642
    646
    CCENT
    CCNA, if time remains.

With 2 kids now, my time is more limited, but my director allows me to study at work, during downtime, so I should be able to keep up with everything.
