Hello All,
I'm scheduled to take the exam this coming Saturday.
I am about to finish Darril Gibson's book (on chap 9).
The book was pretty straight forward, i was able to answer all the practice questions.
My question is, Is reading Darril Gibson's book enough to just go and take the test?
Either way, I will be looking a some addition practice questions.
But just curious...
Thanks

effekted Member Posts: 166I watched the CBT nuggets first and then read through Darril's book twice, flew through the test and scored 810/900...was going for 850+ but I probably should have been patient and thoroughly read the questions. Like people have posted, the wording of the questions is generally the hardest part of Security+.

I read DG's book once, did 6 days of flash cards and passed with an 842, all you need is DG's book for 201, seriously.Current Certification Path: CCNA, CCNP Security, CCDA, CCIE Security

capitalsown Member Posts: 61 ■■□□□□□□□□I read Darril Gibson's book the week before the test and scored an 875. Darril Gibson's book was really all I used. I did make mild use of a few other books (didn't read them through, just wanted to see another angle), but I don't think they really helped at all. All my other resources were short study sheets that I went over right before I took the test.
I don't know if I would have scored an 875, but I do know I would have passed if I just read Darril's book (although an 875 wouldn't have surprised me). So yeah, the book is THAT good. It really is all you need to pass Security+. -
Brakarific Member Posts: 23 ■□□□□□□□□□I exclusively read his book and took a couple of practice tests outside of his material. Someone gave me a Sec + Test King, but it was laughable the kinds of errors it contained. I read Darril's book once, and then skimmed through it again a few days before the test. I passed with 853 and had 30 mins to spare. The test is very straightforward, you either know the answer or you don't, and Darril's book gives you all the knowledge you need to know the answers.

swild Member Posts: 828I am sad to say that his book is all you need. The Sec+ exam just isn't in depth enough, I didn't feel like I learned anything in studying for it so I went on to the CISSP.
