I added a new post to my VMware Training & Certification blog last night, some comment and many links to help with anyone preparing for the VCP5 exam:
VMware Training and Certification: Studying for the VCP5 exam
Get in touch if there's anything else that you think is useful for people to know and I'll consider it for inclusion.
Cheers,
Scott.

blargoe Member Posts: 4,174 ■■■■■■■■■□Thanks, Scott, I'll definitely check it out.
Side question: Do you know for how much longer the version 4 exams will be available? I was thinking of prepping for the VCAP-DCA on v4, sitting mid-2012; if it will stiill be available for a while I may work on VCP5 first.IT guy since 12/00
Recent: 11/2019 - RHCSA (RHEL 7); 2/2019 - Updated VCP to 6.5 (just a few days before VMware discontinued the re-cert policy...)
Working on: RHCE/Ansible
Future: Probably continued Red Hat Immersion, Possibly VCAP Design, or maybe a completely different path. Depends on job demands... -
scott28tt Member Posts: 686 ■■■■■□□□□□No dates have been set for the retirement of any of the vSphere 4 exams. Personally, I expect VCP4 to retire at the end of February 2012 in line with the "VCP4 > VCP5 with no training" 6 month grace period, and I'd expect a similar 6 month overlap to happen with the VCAP-DCA and VCAP-DCD exams.
And before you ask, no I don't have any dates for the VCAP5 exams.VCP2 / VCP3 / VCP4 / VCP5 / VCAP4-DCA / VCI / vExpert 2010-2012

jmritenour Member Posts: 565Thanks for the info Scott. I used your blog extensively for VCP4 last year, and I can see it's again going to be a valuable resource when I sit the VCP5 in January/February."Start by doing what is necessary, then do what is possible; suddenly, you are doing the impossible." - St. Francis of Assisi
