Running scripts.

Is it possible to run your own personal scripts on a Cisco device i.e. a ASA 5505?

Scripting language built into the ASA.

I would like to run dynamic dns so the asa updates my ip address, when it changes

You might want to take a look at TCL, not too sure if its supported on the IOS for the ASA though.

TCL is not supported on the ASA (yet?). I'm not aware of any scripting built into the ASA.

IOS supports DynDNS natively (though it's always been a PITA to get working). You may consider using a router instead of the ASA.

Again though, this is for IOS, not the ASA. That's why I suggest a router to replace the firewall.

I have a router which supports ddns, but would this work for no-ip.com or is it only for dyndns?

No idea.

I tried looking into this earlier this year and didnt find an answer. best bet is to get an account with dyndns.org and install their updater on a pc behind the firewall.
