70-640, 70-642, 70-643 and 70-646 .... Which one should I write first?

Hi,

I am planning to write the 70-640, 70-642, 70-643 and 70-646 and I was wondering where to start.
I don't want to tackle one first and later discover that it would have been easier if I have done the other one first.
I am thinking of getting the Microsoft Press books for them.
Any suggestion will be most welcomed. Thanks

What are you going for? I only ask because you list more than you need to Server Admin and not enough for Enterprise Admin. Anyway I did them in this order: 70-642, 70-640 and 70-646 for Server: 70-680, 70-643 and 70-647 for the Enterprise and then 70-686 for EDA. That worked well for me and I liked the order I took them in but I'm sure others will have different opinions.
    Thanks, Tom

Without question, the 70-642. I deviated from that plan when I went with the Sybex R2 book and failed the 70-640 the first time. Had I gone with the 70-642 first and passed that, it would have made the 70-640 a lot easier, in my opinion. When I took the 70-642, it had a lot of overlap from the 70-640...DFS, DirectAccess, NAP, etc, etc.

I am going for MCITP: Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server 2008.
    I am writing the 70-680 10/18.

    Thanks

640 or 642 First. I did 640 first it is by far the harder of the two but that made 642 much easier. After that go 646 ties into 640 and 642 then do the EA route 643 then 647.

I find 70-640 harder than 70-642. But if you would start in the typical order, 70-640 would be the first choice. Good luck!

I did 640 first, but in hindsight, 642 is the better choice if you have a working knowledge of 2003/2008.

Also, 646 isn't required for Enterprise Admin, I believe. Did you mean to say 647?

edit: I haven't actually passed/taken 642, so I'm just basing my recommendation on the self study kit and the first "chapter" of the Boson practice exam... YMMV, as always.
