Am I in the clear for this job?

So 2 months ago I interviewed for this place twice and I assumed I didn't get the job as they stopped contacting me. Yesterday, they asked if I was still interested and he emailed me job application with employee benefits information. The first time I was interviewed by 3 people, then the next time I was interviewed from their boss. He said they need to do a background check first and I should fill out the forms and I'll meet them Monday. Is there usually another interview after this process?

Excellent1 Member Posts: 462 ■■■■■■■□□□This sounds very much like they have made the decision to move forward with hiring you. Obviously nothing in life is 100%, but from the information you've provided and the timeframe involved, it appears likely that they are confirming your information preparatory to bringing you on. Good luck and (hopefully) congratulations in advance.

If I were you I would go in to the meeting as if you didn't have the job. The boss could just want to meet you before they make a decision. -
Akaricloud Member Posts: 938Some companies like to make formal offers in-person. That'd be my best guess as to what is going on assuming your background check comes back clear.

vCole Member Posts: 1,573 ■■■■■■■□□□A job is never "in the clear" until you start your first day.
However, once your background check is cleared and a formal offer has been made (and signed), I think you'll be in good shape. Until then, go into the meeting without the mindset that you have the job already. You never know! -
drew726 Member Posts: 237They made me an informal offer 55K pending background checks! Is that about right? Living in the bay area, this will be my 3rd year in IT.Completed Courses:

Forsaken_GA Member Posts: 4,024If a company is willing to do a background check (that costs them money, so they dont do it for every applicant), it means an offer is pretty much forthcoming, unless they find something they don't like in the background check.

Devilry Member Posts: 668It sounds like originally you were 'in the running', it is even possible that there was another person that might have fallen through.
But if you already have an offer pending background check it is looking positive for you.
As vCole said, you never have the job til you work your first day.
Good luck! keep us posted -
