Lost sound on HP Laptop
End user has HP 6730s laptop that has lost the sound function. Device manager says the device is working fine, but if you go into sounds, it says no device detected.
Did a search this morning, and found that the Microsoft UAA driver can become corrupt. So downloaded that from HP site, installed it. Then removed the sound card (SoundMaxHD Audio) and reinstalled that driver. Rebooted, still no sound.
User does have a SoundBlaster USB external sound sound, and that quick working as well. A bit stumped on this one. Checked BIOS, nothing turned off there that would effect internal card at all. Anyone up for some suggestions?
