I'm looking to do a degree in IT at WGU, i don't have college experience. Presently i'm thinking about doing some general courses at Straighterline ( Online courses for college credit - Online Courses - StraighterLine ). Is this wise? Will i have difficulty in transferring the credit to WGU?

Online Introductory Algebra - Online College Prep Course for College Algebra - StraighterLine
&
Online Writing Course - Our Writing Development Course Helps with Essay Writing and Composition - StraighterLine
They do not count for college credit, and are not transferable. However, because you don't have a college background, those courses will give you a good indication if you can deal with taking general education courses in the same manner you (presumably) went for your certs: self-study and no interaction (hardly) with any students or teachers. If you can't, that's ok. It just means you'd fare better in a more traditional setting, like community college or something.
Potentially, you would save some money if you went the Straighterline route and possibly time.
Be mindful though that CompTIA certs have a shelf-life of 5 years from when you first acquired them. After that, you have to take them again (though non-lifetime/DoD folks are doing that anyway). -

Yes most of the IT certs were self-study while some were done in the classroom. -

WGU and StraighterLine have an articulated partnership. This shows the guaranteed transfer credits: Transfer College Credits To Western Governors University - StraighterLine
