Honestly, I'm not sure it serves a real purpose, at least not yet. Unless you are reviewing a candidate who has certs from 4+ vendors and you want to check all of them, it doesn't seem necessary. I've yet to have any employers validate any of my certs anyway. Also, there are way too many big names missing from that list. No CompTIA, ISC2, or RedHat?

What I could see is providing new certifications based partially on certs from multiple organizations, a la what MS did on MCSA/MCSE 2003 with CompTIA, Comptia does now with Linux+ and LPI and RedHat, DoD's program, etc. On the other hand, I don't see many gaps in certifications right now -- if anything, there are too many different certs from too many different organizations.
