Hi, I don't post much, so this is my first post and I'm hoping someone could please explain this answer to me...much appreciated. I don't understand which would be added to the routing table from a debug ip rip command...please help me understand . This is from the cd in back of the book Pearson IT Cert. Practice test.
Heres the question...The exhibit shows an output from a working RIP router. Which entries are put into the routing table?
EXHIBIT
HICKORY#debug ip rip

A. 10.0.0.0 in 1 hop <<this is the answer <-This network is being advertised from neighbor 207.87.1.65, has best metric
B. 0.0.0.0/0 in 2 hops <-No default route is being received from a neighbor
C. 207.87.1.0 in 1 hop <-This network is not being received from neighbor
D. 207.87.5.0 in 3 hop <<this is the answer <- This network is advertised from all 3 neighbors, metrics match
E. 10.0.0.0 in 2 hops <- the route above with a hop of 1 has a shorter distance to the network
F. 207.87.1.0 in 2 hops <-This network is not being received from neighbors
Only the best route to a destination makes it to the routing table. It is better to go through the possible answers and ask yourself if that would make it to the routing table, rather than trying to take in all that debug output at once.
