Anybody know what's involved in a "Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) to be granted access to a Position of Public Trust."?

They checked my financial status and my criminal history. Had an interview with an agent for 45 mins or so. He was nice and just asked all the right questions. He will make you squirm if you ever did anything wrong.

Whatever you do make sure your finances are in order. The will want to see you create a payment plan to all your creditors if you owe people.

Believe it is just a credit check and probably a criminal background investigation. I don't think you will have to meet with an investigator. Make sure your finances are in order/don't have any issues. I've heard of quite a few people who have been denied a public trust clearance just because they had bad finances/issues (not going in to a debate whether this is right or wrong, those are the rules and it is what it is). I will say when filling out your paperwork (probably the SF-85) BE HONEST on it.
