Does the Max Segment Size option for TCP make ICMP Path Discovery useless ?
Well what I should say is that why wouldn't MSS show the MS for the path and not the host. Wouldn't that be a better thing to send instead of relying on another protocol?

You have to consider that while TCP compromises a majority of traffic, there's a lot of UDP and non-protocol 1/6/17 going on as well. Plus the routing path can potentially change at any time.Hopefully-useful stuff I've written: http://kimiushida.com/bitsandpieces/articles/
