unable to receive comcast.net e-mails

Hello,

I'm trying to help out a friend and was just wondering if anyone knows what may cause comcast.net e-mail to be rejected from coming in to exchange?

The comcast.net user is receiving:

Delivery to the following recipients was aborted after 73.7 hour(s):

> Reporting-MTA: dns; qmta04.westchester.pa.mail.comcast.net

I believe this issue started around the time of renewing their website registration.

Any assistance would be appreciated!

The business can receive e-mail from everyone, with the exception of those coming in from comcast.net.

They can send to comcast.net, but when the comcast.net replies or creates a new e-mail to their domain e-mail, it gets rejected.

I would say someone is on a RBL. Is it just the one email address or any email address from comcast?

Blacklist seems fine on MxToolbox (as well as everything else on MxToolbox). It's any incoming e-mail from @comcast.net going to any e-mail address within their business domain.

Also, apparently it's not only comcast.net, as someone tried sending something from France which also didn't reach the destination.

So I had comcast run a trace, and the e-mail address reached the destination. However, not being an e-mail guy, I don't know how exchange and MX records are suppose to work.

The e-mail trace went to the IP of the Domain, not the Mail.Domain. Is this how it's suppose to work and the domain forwards to the mail.domain?

If so, I'm assuming the e-mail is being dropped at our end? Odd because we didn't see any records in the logs.

I also had him run a trace to the mail.domain IP, and it was not successful and failed somewhere in TX @ Charter. Is this a normal thing that the trace can drop off like that?

Just trying to find out where the fault is. Thanks again!!

Mail gets routed to the MX record. You'd be having problems with more than just comcast if the MX records were screwed up. Unless of course there were recent changes and comcast is still using old cached information.

Very hard to say without knowing the recipient domain and with the little information you've given.
