The same goes for encryption and IPS's -
colemic Member Posts: 1,569 ■■■■■■■□□□One that I have been bouncing around in my head is a solution to reduce the rampant theft from financial institutions via ACH batch transactions. What happens is, a business PC is infected with Zeus or something similar, and if that PC is authorized to submit payroll, for example, what they will do is alter the account numbers and amounts, and then resubmit using captured credentials. Or just create a new batch transaction and do the same. Happens most often to small businesses but if any business OR bank is lacking the proper controls, they are at risk.
Just something I am aware of happening, and am thinking about. Maybe it will give you an idea or two.Working on: staying alive and staying employed -

I was thinking working on something regarding risk management or vulnerabilities but I don't know where to start!
If you guys have any ideas probably that would help qwertyiop as well -
forestgiant Member Posts: 153I spent a lot of time reading briefs and articles on sans.org, searchsecurity.techtarget.com, and EC-Council PDFs (you gain access when you enroll in learning resources for the EDRP course, which may or may not be available anymore).
Another useful source is WGU's own thesis archive.
My thesis topic draws on almost every one of the 14 courses in the MS ISA program (I'm on the mid 2011 program before they changed to the December 2011 program). I've used the Harvard's "A Guide to the ALM Thesis" for reference as well. -
