RIP and poison reverse

Hi all,

I am wondering if poison reverse is actually enabled/used by RIP by default.

I read the book of Lammle however I wonder if I actually read anything about poison reverse.

Poison Reverse is a feature of Distance Vector. I havent seen any commands to have poison reverse enabled. Im assuming its on automagically.

Route poisoning is a feature of distance vector protocols used to indicate that a route is unreachable. A variation of route poisoning is split horizon with poison reverse, where by temporarily the split horizon rules are disabled and a router is allowed to send a update to the router it recieved a route from, having a infinite metric hence indicating that the route is down. In RIPs case router B will send a update to Router A having a hop count of 16 (Unreachable)
