Expanding a virtual disk in Navisphere

So, here is the setup:
vmware 4
Navisphere Express on Ax4

Question: Can I expand my virtual disk in navisphere with vmware still in production? (It has VMs running on it) If so, I would just need to go into vmware, rescan my storage and grow the virtual disk in vmware, right?

    Okay so Ive read some recommendations that it is better to create a new virtual disk in navisphere then go into storage on vmware and use the "extent" feature to grow the disk in vmware.

    Anyone have any advice?
