Please help a newbie to Certifications get pointed in the right direction!
Hello!
I have worked in IT for about 10 years now. I am 31 and I have no certs, no college. I want to go to WGU for now and get started, but they said I need at least an A+ Certification to start.
What would I need to do, to study for that (any book suggestions would be great, thanks!) and get the cert?
ANY advice is appreciated!!!
Thanks!

What do you do now? Do you work with hardware or in a desktop support type position? If you have previous experience working with hardware (building/break and fix type work) A+ should be pretty stright forward for you.
I just started reading this book a few days ago, so far so good. I just need to "brush up" on somethings before taking the A+

I'm new to this Forum and am studying towards my A+. I am using the Mike Myers All-in-one guide which I am finding interesting, I have gone through the book once and am going through it again taking notes this time and hope to be ready by March to take the exams.
I am also using the Professor Messer, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certification Training videos which have been mentioned and they are really a great resource to use. Plus they are FREE!!!

Hope this helps.
