Well, managed to get 5 hours of studying today. I finished chapter 12, and it was pretty ok.

Tomorrow i am not going to learn anything since it's my birthday. I'm turning 25 icon_sad.gif i am getting old.

Congrats to James for the pass!!

Happy Birthday tomorrow. Get through that book, then read it again hammering the Odom and Bosen tests as you go. 200 hours of reading then it's written test time. April time.

good work. You definitely want to have all of your energy for the multicast chapter.

Just get through the first pass of the whole book. Of course dont rush but finish it. Theres a lot there you wont understand really well even when you take the written! Lab practice helps. Once you are through Odom do the end of chapter questions and have a second crack at reading it, to turn the mush in your head into knowledge you can work with. Then its Boson tests and a few other books. It takes time and practice.

Well today i managed to get 6 hours of learning. Still not finished with the Multicast Chapters.

I now realized that my next 3 weekends i will get no study since i have some family obligations to attend to icon_sad.gif.
Hope to get some study in the commute between the cities(4 hours commute time).

The hand written notes are getting pretty big.

Its all good. Be patient. Unless you are unemployed or have significant workstime to study this will take 2+ years.

It certainly isn't easy, but the time commitment is well worth it in the end to know that you passed the right way.

Take the pain. 200 hours for you. Start hitting the Odom and Boson tests after 100 hours. Once the 200 is done and you pass written, the next 1000 lab hours will help you put the theory into practical context :) Lab hours are more brutal than reading.

Wow, did not post in a while. i managed to get only 2 hours of reading the IPv6 chapter. Work got in the way.

I am now doing some migrating and getting a customer in our environment..mostly checkpoint/juniper stuff. Got to get good on this, and then back to CCIE.

    It's taking a long time...offf

    Dear ipSpace,

I will be a CCNP by Monday and then back on the CCIE path. 2 hours is awesome! The guy on my last team who made CCIE--he was not, by most accunts the most talented, nor did he put in a great many hours per day. He just kept putting in that one hour per day until he reached goal. And then he doubled up. Discipline, that surely is one of his skills! May you not take an interminable break, and make some small forward progress each day towards your goal. I certaintly will join him one day. Cheers, mate!

You're getting some time in, but just keep pushing. Just stay consistent if your schedule permits and know that you are going to do this.

    Well, back on track.

Got 5 hours of study today. Finish my 1st pass over the Odom book, and reviewed some other Multicast and IPv6 materials.

These 2 subjects, are by far my weakest points.

Hope tomorrow to get more than 7 hours.

It's a good feeling to get back on track :D

You are not alone in this. IPv6 is a nightmare to me right now. Perhaps I have not done any implementation requiring ipv6.
