SSH --- Help---- Using Packet Tracer
Ola_CISCO
Hello,
I am going through the Wendell Odom, book ICND1 and I am trying to configure a switch in Packet Tracer, going through the SSH Configuration Process, but when I get to the "ip domain-name example.com" bit firstly the "domain-name" command does not work, also when I add example.com or another url, that also does not work I get this message:
Switcheroo_CISCO(config)#ip domain-name example.com
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
Switcheroo_CISCO(config)#ip domain-lookup example.com
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
Switcheroo_CISCO(config)#ip domain cisco.com
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
Switcheroo_CISCO(config)#
I have also checked the ios version on the 2960-24TT switch, and is the same as the example in the book 12.2.
Thanks

What is the PacketTracer version?
I checked mine and it's work fine. 5.3.3

I do believe that SSH doesn't work in the earlier versions below 5.3.3
