Wow lol...I was thinking of getting an IP security camera but I guess all they would see is the outside of my house.

I don't see how this is a problem if you don't place your cameras on the Internet. Use secure VPN people

Keep the cameras on their own network that are NOT accessible from the internet, or at least not directly accessible. If you really must have remote access to them, lock it down to a single PC with access, VPN in and connect to that PC.

I just found a neat one already of some large airplane hanger...

The white plane in the middle is Global Hawk (UAV)... The camera controls aren't locked, I can zoom in on it, but can't read the markings on the plane.
