In my nearly 13 years of work experience, I have had one interview from Monster. I have had the most success with CareerBuilder and via relationships with recruiters.2024 Renew: [ ] AZ-204 [ ] AZ-305 [ ] AZ-400 [ ] AZ-500 [ ] Vault Assoc.

Interesting. I've had nearly a dozen interviews from Monster, and found every full-time contract and job I've ever had on Monster. I think I've maybe had one interview from a Career Builder ad.
It could partially be a regional thing, and even our combined experience is a pretty limited sample size. -

I have had luck all across the board. It’s hard to say if one site is better than the other. Here is my list, some of these are Minnesota Specific.
CraigsList
Jobs indeed
Simply hired-Some of the jobs that they post seem to be outdated.
My colleges career center….smaller job pool, which means easier to be considered for a position and less compention.
Minnesota based job searching/posting websites:
https://statejobs.doer.state.mn.us/JobPosting
Minnesota Jobs - Minneapolis Jobs | St. Paul Jobs | Star Tribune Jobs
Nonprofit Job Board | Minnesota Council of Nonprofits
https://www.minnesotaworks.net/
Minneapolis Jobs
Jobs indeed is my favorite job searching web site and I have had the most luck with that site. It’s pretty much the Google Search Engine of job sites and job boards.
I haven’t had much luck on Career Builder or Monster, why? Because so many people apply for those jobs that the pool of candidates is so huge, the hiring manager can pick from 1000’s of candidates. When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened."

SteveLord Member Posts: 1,717I prefer to go straight to the source (or craigslist, since its cheaper for employers to post there). I also don't like my information getting passed around headhunters from sites like Monster and Careerbuilder + the additional spam. And yeah, nearly all of them were contract jobs anyway. I prefer to seek full time right off the bat, not endure the "oh, but there's a very good chance they'll make it full time" sales pitch.WGU B.S.IT - 9/1/2015 >>> ???

#1 Craigslist
#2 Indeed
#3 Simplyhired; I really dislike how they dont divide the jobs up by salary like they do at Indeed.com. -

That's exactly what I thought. Last March I saw a job that looked very appealing. Careerbuilder had an icon with 5 guys next to it which meant that the job was hot and a lot of people were applying. I almost did not apply but decided "what the heck, can't lose anything" and applied anyway. A month later the job was mine. It has been the best job I've ever had an way better than I could've imagined. -

ImTheKing Member Posts: 62 ■■□□□□□□□□I'm surprised anyone here has had luck with Monster. I've never even seen a real job on there (at least in my area).
Indeed, CL, and SimplyHired are all good sites for me. When I was actively looking, I tried to look at as many local employer's websites as possible. The biggest problem I had with SimplyHired was that they seem to have a tendency to repost the same job over and over, even if the employer never reposted it. I ended up applying to a the same job a couple of times before realizing it was the exact same posting from two weeks ago. -
carajean Member Posts: 20 ■□□□□□□□□□Yeah I have never had luck with Monster or Career Builder. More luck came from going straight to companies website. Currently still dont have a IT job but I got a call back about this job HelpDesk | Help Desk | Service Desk | Desktop Support jobs - Dice.com . The company has a couple bad reviews so im a bit suspect I dont trust recruiters.
