What's your take?I have a BS in Business - IT Management. I have a couple of certs but no real experience in engineering, only Help desk type stuff. Could I benefit from a systems engineering degree, a technology management degree or...... Please help? Any feedback would be great.

It definitely wouldn't hurt but usually you'll need experience for a systems engineering job. You may also want to start looking into certifications.

Almost anyone can benefit from a Master's degree, but with minimal experience and only lower level certs, you might do better to focus on certifications and in turn the technology you'll learn studying for certifications.

The CCNA would probably be the only valuable cert to an employer hiring for a sys engineer position.

I think experience should be your big thing right now. Also, a systems engineering degree would probably be more then you really need (that is without having seen the coursework required). A Masters in IS/IT would probably do the trick, but then you might be considered over educated for the jobs you would want....

^ This. You have have the highest degree you can think of but experience is still king. Landing a position that gives you that experience you are missing along with working towards the masters would be ideal. Some of us have no degree at all (although I'm about to finish it) but our experience is more than enough to help land high level positions.
