Windows can't access internet, but can access local network.

I've got a computer that just started to act weird.

It'll keep a network connection live to my local network and randomly not be able to access the internet.

When it stopped working I pinged 4.2.2.2 and got full replies.

Same with tracert.

Seems as though the TCP/IP stack is flaking out.

Anyone know of any fixes?

Static or DHCP address? Possibly a duplicate IP/MAC Addy on the network would cause this issue.

Also, you said you could ping 4.2.2.2 after the internet stopped working. Seems like DNS isn't resolving then, if you can still get out to 4.2.2.2 that means traffic is routing out.

have you checked your default gateway?

have you flushed your dns cache?

Assigned through DHCP, I have done a ipconfig /release and renew to get it. I also changed my local DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, still nothing from the browser(s). But I can ping all websites and all websites are resolved.

Demonfurbie, yep. default gateway is correct as it's assigned through DHCP and yep, one of the first things that I have done to try to correct the issue.

Ultimately I have to reboot to fix the issue, but after 12+ hours of being on it'll stop working on a browser.
