How to share a Macbook Air screen on external monitor?

Ok Ive been digging around, and haven't found an answer on how to do this. I have a user who just got a Macbook Air, but wants to use it for meetings and share the screen on both the external monitor and the laptop. He is so used to doing this on his old PC machine, that it is driving him nuts on how to do it on the Mac.

Can anyone lend a hand with this?

He would need to get a VGA dongle. Video port is on the left side of the laptop. Is that what you mean, or are you thinking wireless?

We have the cable, it was a setting in OSX that was driving him nuts. I finally tracked it down:

Open the "Apple" menu, located in the upper-left corner of your laptop's display. Click on the option labeled "System Preferences."

    · Locate the icon labeled "Displays," under the "Hardware" heading. Click on the button labeled "Arrangement."

    · Click on the checkbox labeled "Mirror Displays," located in the bottom-left corner of the window.

    · Click on the red button in the upper-left corner to close the "System Preferences" window.
