I figured I'd make a thread to make it official
I'm going to use the following:
Amazon.com: Designing Cisco Network Service Architectures (ARCH) Foundation Learning Guide: (CCDP ARCH 642-874) (3rd Edition) (Foundation Learning Guides) (978158714288: John Tiso: Books
Amazon.com: Top-Down Network Design (3rd Edition) (9781587202834): Priscilla Oppenheimer: Books
I'll probably pick this book later on:Amazon.com: NX-OS and Cisco Nexus Switching: Next-Generation Data Center Architectures (Networking Technology) (9781587058929): Kevin Corbin, Ron Fuller, David Jansen: Books
The INE CCDP Videos.
All the links from Down77's thread (Thanks for posting all that stuff!)
http://www.techexams.net/forums/ccda-ccdp/63805-arch-exam-642-873-ccdp.html
And, note taking in Evernote of course.
I'm going to shoot for an exam date sometime in May!

SteveO86 Member Posts: 1,423Been through the first module of the INE videos, not too bad. The WLAN and QoS stuff was an easy review.
Onward to to Module 2 and routing protocols! As I still work my way through the FLG book.
I don't have work scheduled this weekend so I should be getting some good study time in this weekend! My Networking blog

down77 Member Posts: 1,009Good luck on the ARCH exam! While you are going through the material remember to take notes on the best practices and design considerations as it'll help. Spend some additional time understanding the how and why of QoS and why one routing protocol may be better than another based on the technical design specification. I can't say much more without violating the NDA.
FWIW Once you get done with ARCH you will see a lot of the material repeated through other design exams (partner specialization).CCIE Sec: Starting Nov 11 -
SteveO86 Member Posts: 1,423Thanks for the tips!
Yea I've had a rouh week (and next week won't be any better) but I'm still working my through routing protocols. SOme cool stuff in there. Due some experiences at work Ive already read the a bunch of the routing protocol design guides on Cisco sites many times already lol.
OSPF Design Guide - Cisco Systems
Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol - Cisco Systems
Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN) Design Guide (Version 1.1) [Design Zone for IPv6] - Cisco Systems
You know, it's a good thing I enjoy this stuff or I'd be in trouble LOL.
My company is working on building their partner relationship with Cisco so I might be going for some of the specializations in the future, but we will see.My Networking blog

SteveO86 Member Posts: 1,423Spent the day going through Multicast, a very worth while refresher since I haven't really touched multicast since my CCNP studies.
I definitely took some heavy notes on this chapter. My Networking blog

SteveO86 Member Posts: 1,423Well I am just about finished ARCH FLG.
Now I'm going to dig through some IPv6 stuff, review Top Down Network Design (again), and get lost in all the notes I've taken.
I'm actually going to traveling this week for work (Off to Chicago I go!) So I should be able to knock out a lot more reading/review on the plane ride.
I might actually make this arbitrary deadline I set for myselfMy Networking blog
