Hmm, did they say why they are not including any certs in the degree plan? Interesting, but I think I will stick with the MS:ISA.Never stop learning. -
erpadmin Member Posts: 4,165 ■■■■■■■■■■So...I'm guessing since it's available on the main website that means one can start now with this degree?
This would have been the degree I would have taken at WGU if it were available. The MBA-IT did not interest me (at WGU) and as for the MS-ISA degree, if I were so inclined, I could achieve a degree at a CAE-R for reduced cost if I wanted to. [Security is too narrow of a topic...plus, I don't like taking courses just because it's a hot trend right now...]
For me at least, I'm taking a lot of those classes now. My Org. Behavior course is a lot like the JFT2 course (with a little LZT2 sprinkled in...just did a paper on power and influence not too long ago... ).
Looks like a good program though.Hmm, did they say why they are not including any certs in the degree plan?
I think WGU wants a more academic-looking degree. This degree is also more for management-types, sans the MBA credential. This is a very good looking program, FWIW. -

Ah yeah that makes sense. Well I'm 23, so I think I'm a long ways away from any type of management position. Another reason for me to stay with the ISA.
I do agree with you though, good looking program for people looking for that type of graduate degree.Never stop learning. -

It does look like a pretty solid program, but I don't think it fits what I'm after. I'll keep it in mind in case I change directions, though.Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.

themagicone Member Posts: 674I have been waiting on this to really start bugging admissions on getting back in. I applied like 3 times since I've graduated and not a single call so I just let it go. But again, like the last poster, there is a lot of taskstream in that.Courses Completed at WGU: JIT2, LYT2, TFT2, SJT2, BFC2, TGT2, FXT2

Nothing better then seeing "Notice of evaluation completion" though! Makes any day a good day! But the 5 day wait time is kind of brutal...Never stop learning. -

That wait always sucked. I always had taskstream emails come straight to my "dumb" phone whenever my WGU received a Taskstream notification. I was always happy to not see a Revision Needed email (or whatever it was.)
I found out that the Taskstream account goes away after a year. I made sure that I had all my assisgnments go into my Dropbox account (as well as my current assignments for my current school.)
This degree program really is a nice addition to their MS in IT offerings. It is very comparable to what I'm studying now (and will study later.) Almost wished they had it available so I could at least consider it before I went the B&M route. But if I didn't want the B&M route, I really would have considered this. -

themagicone Member Posts: 674So I started today in applying. Got transferred to like 6 different people, last persons said there is only one person that deals with returning students. Ended up with just getting his VM. I'm going to try to start 4/1. I really don't need the MS but it should hopefully boost my income a tad after completion.Courses Completed at WGU: JIT2, LYT2, TFT2, SJT2, BFC2, TGT2, FXT2

A lot of people have transferred out of the enrollment department. This I garnered from the WGU folks when I went to commencement. Hang in there magic, and let us know how that journey progresses. -
themagicone Member Posts: 674Finnally I got a call back. Have intake interview friday and go over the process. Program doesn't start till may 1st so anyone signing up has to wait till then.Courses Completed at WGU: JIT2, LYT2, TFT2, SJT2, BFC2, TGT2, FXT2

themagicone Member Posts: 674I got accepted and start May 1st. I'm in the boat that I'm taking it to just "take it". When traveling for work there will be a lot of time in airports, planes and hotel rooms so I figured I might as well do something constructive with my time. If it goes well and I can finish in 2-3 terms I'll probably then jump right into a BSEE/MSEE program. As long as I keep going to school part time I don't have to pay back the student loans lol.Courses Completed at WGU: JIT2, LYT2, TFT2, SJT2, BFC2, TGT2, FXT2
