Hey I'm thinking about which Microsoft Cert I should go for
Which one in your opinion is a better investment of time/money? difficulty?

MCSE is Windows 2003. Do you really want to be certified in 10 year old technology?

The reason the MCSE is highly regarded is because the people who possess it have (or at least should have) many years of high level Windows administrative experience.

    You don't.

People assume the MCSE is some sort of magic ticket but unless there is plenty demonstrable industry experience to back it up then it's of hugely questionable value. This was the case half a decade ago, doubly so now.

More importantly, the tests may well retire before you pass it. I wouldn't count on them lasting much into 2013, if at all. MCITP:EA is the way to go.

A person might possibly have time for the MCSA, then an upgrade to the SA/EA. I'd advise going the Server 2003 route only if you are using it at work and need to support it.

MCSE was 7, IIRC. They're really about the same in terms of scope and difficulty. Anyway, the sooner you get started, the sooner you'll be through with them.
