Command authorization failed.

hey everyone i got my 2509 from ebay today and as i fired it up there was still a configuration on it
so i sent a break, changed register and did a start run

so far so good but when i try to do a show run or a conf t i get a

Command authorization failed.

is there anything i can do about it or just wipe out the config?

It's probably looking for a radius / tacacs server, can you do any show tacacs or show radius commands?

is there an easy workaround or should i just "wr" it?

just write erase it (wr will save the config, not kill it) and reboot it. If it gives you command auth failed for write erase, then you get to break and 0x2142 it

i already did break and 0x2142 it.
i was trying to take a look at the existing config by copying the startup into the running but i guess i will just do a copy run start (wr) and give it a fresh running config now.

nonetheless thank you all for your help. just waiting for the octal cable now to start my switchlab...
