What book(s) you can recommend on PHP, PERL, or Java? I know there are tons of materials on the Internet. However, certain authors are better in explaining difficuk topics, than other.

We are using PHP Beginner's Guide by Vikram Viswami at school. It's a pretty good book but nevertheless web development is not my cup of tea. -

The internet
with a daily does of Stack Overflow
