XENPAK vs. X2
Akiii
Hi,
Is there any difference between these 2 modules?
I'm purchasing a 4port tengig blade(6704-10G) for a 6500 and only XENPAK modules are supported BUT for the 8 and 16port version you have to use X2.
Cisco X2-10GB-SR

Cisco XENPAK-10GB-SR

Both specifiations look the same.
Thanks

XENPAKs are older and mostly phased out. Go with the 6708, it's a better card.

thanks.
Well yeah if there wouldn't be that much of difference between the 2 blades ~ 10k USD.

It's worth the money. You get much deeper buffers, DFC, etc.
