70-682 - you have not reached a passing score :(

Sat the 70-682 this morning and got a 494

70-680 section was straighforward and I scored high on this - say about 80-85%

70-685 section was much harder and had very long scenario questions.

Overall score was therefore 494 - the lowest of the two scores icon_sad.gif

I have the MCDST so I decided to go for the 682.

I thought getting the upgrade to windows 7 by doing the 682 would be a good idea, wrong.

I was about 5 questions out I reckon.

I'm in two minds whether to go for this again or try the 70-680.

Any thoughts please, particularly those who have done both the 680 and the 685.

Prior to sitting the 682, I thought the 680 questions would be harder than the 685 ones, wrong.

Maybe the 685 is harder because it's a PRO exam rather than the TS

Look forward to your thoughts please........

I actually thought the 70-680 was harder than 70-685. The reason is I took the 70-680 first and a large portion of the information carried over to 685 as a foundation to study and memorize on. Furthermore, the amount of questions on the 70-680 was substantially larger and contained the experimental questions, which created more stress.

I cannot comment on the 70-682.

Sorry to hear you didn't pass.
I thought about doing the 682, but decided to go the 2 exam route to get the EST. I actually thought the 685 was harder than the 685.

Sorry to hear about it. I have the MCDST as well, and was planning to take the 682 in the next 6 months --- but based upon what Psoasman said, I think I may just do the 680 then 685 so I can get the EST designation as well.

What did you use to study?

The Poulton book for the 70-680 element and the Darril Gibson book for the 70-685 element.

    Transcender 70-682

I've got the MSPress 70-685 book on its way, hope that will fill in the blanks.

I did 70-682 and passed by a slim margin...I didn't study very hard though, so I had to rely on my work experience to get me through it. I did use the MeasureUp practice exam and it did prepare me for the types of questions I answered successfully on the exam.

Was that the free version of MeasureUp with the MS Press book or the commercial version?

I purchased the commercial version, 682, at the time that I took it, didn't have a MSPress book. I "studied" from the 680 and 685 books, separately. When I say studied, I mean I took the practice exam, and the sections I flunked badly, I read in the corresponding MSPress book.

This page helped me narrow down what was important and the corresponding book and chapter:
