Throwing down the SWITCH gauntlet on 3-30-12
I am finally ready to take SWITCH on. I still feel like I could study more in a few areas which i'll be doing over the next few days, but if I push it out any more, it will just be procrastination and not (hopefully) lack of preparation. My study material consists of:
Books: OCG, FLG, Various Cisco Docs and Study Blogs
Video: CBT Nuggets
Lab: 2x3550, 2x2950, IOU and GNS3
Practice Questions - Boson EX-SIM MAX and OCG questions.
Lastly, over 1500 flashcards I created from the various sources and put into Mnemosyne.
I was gonna take it next Monday, but i have to go on a road trip for work so I would rather take it and be done and focus on TSHOOT and finally CCNP!

wave Member Posts: 342Good luck!! Did you use both the OCG and FLG for ROUTE too? I'm just using the FLG (inc. Appendixes) for ROUTE as I don't really want to fork out the money for another book. I figure that the Boson Ex Sim max exams will reveal if there are any areas not covered in the FLG and I'll buy the OCG at that point.
ROUTE Passed 1 May 2012
SWITCH Passed 25 September 2012
TSHOOT Passed 23 October 2012

Wave, sorry to say, you just missed the $10 sale for the ROUTE OCG.
(Personally, I did not buy the ROUTE OCG, because I feel the ROUTE FLG is an awesome book and covers plenty!)

Vinbuck, you sound incredibly prepared. Should be a piece of cake.
PS - Hopefully, you checked out the Switch OCG author's website, to review the exam content not in his text. -

I just got the FLG in the mail. I've been through the EIGRP and OSPF sections for OCG already. I'm hoping for a better experience. I'll start to read through it, but I already like how "MPLS" is a more mentioned technology in this book, just by glancing at the few pages. I have high hopes.
Whose the hottie on the front cover?
I thought that the OCG ROUTE was big. This is biggerer. In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.

Good luck to you on the SWITCH exam. You can do it.
Rogue,
I have often wondered why I don't run into more IT people that look like the one on the cover of that book. -

I had that same thought. Followed quickly by, if that's Diane Teare, I wonder if she's single! Alas, she is not. -

vinbuck Member Posts: 785 ■■■■□□□□□□Thanks for all the support y'all....been hitting my weak areas and trying to reinforce them. Probably going to do all the major case study labs in the SLM along with verification commands one more time so it's all fresh in my head.

I did download the guide and have reviewed the material. Most of it I was able to brush up on using the FLG, so it wasn't entirely new. I'll probably give it one more read through before I take the exam.Cisco was my first networking love, but my "other" router is a Mikrotik... -
