70-680 Passed!....Barely XD

I took the exam yesterday and passed, barely! 700. icon_lol.gif

Things I learned:
  • Study hard, Don't slack off, I may have slacked off on the smaller portions of the test like mobility and system recovery, and I paid for it there (mostly due to time constraints) so allow yourself time to study
  • Understand how to uninstall, hide and access these options for Windows Updates
  • Understand that "disable driver" is a solution even though it technically disables the device
  • Understand BCDEDIT syntax well and how to use it for simple things like changing boot order, defaults, etc
  • Understand that ImageX can be used for some things that DISM can do (learn the options), and that DISM cannot add programs to to images, use MDT for that
  • Understand what each tab in the WDS configuration does (ie. Directory Services, PXE, Client etc)
  • Memorize steps to create VHD, make it bootable
  • Memorize how to make a dual boot and how to troubleshoot a dual boot setup
  • Understand "Previous Version" troubleshooting and recovery
  • Difference between Bitlocker and BitLocker to Go
  • RemoteApp and Applocker (especially what rules to use)
  • Understand that Anytime Upgrade is for Upgrades
  • Really understand Power Options
Of course this isnt everything that was covered, but I got a lot of questions in these areas including anything new in Windows 7. Oddly I didnt get much on IPv6 and I studied quite a bit for it. I just had a few basic ones on Link-Local and Toredo and understanding that you can make secure connections with Windows Firewall. But nothing on subnet mask troubleshooting.

Exam had 80 questions and 3 hrs to work with. It was a tough one.icon_study.gif Used the training kit MS Press book, which is good just for an easy read and informing, but Professor Messer's videos helped a lot. He doesn't cover a lot though, so I'd use technet or another source too to learn more about what he talks about.

Yes congrats!! And also I appreciate the tips, I always read others. This is the next exam I am aiming to take down so I need all the advice, have been studying/procrastinating this for a while now haha but I feel like I am ready. I am quite comfortable in the areas you did mention to look out for. FINGERS crossed on the IPv6 stuff though
